Making and sending a postcard

What is FamilyLetter?
FamilyLetter prints real 4×6 photo postcards from your own photos and mails them for you. You design the card in your browser, see exactly what will print, and we print it, add the postage and send it by USPS First-Class Mail. One card is $9.99 with free shipping, or $1.49 a card in the Postcard Club.
How does FamilyLetter work?
Add up to four photos, write your message and pick a handwriting style. You see the finished postcard, front and back, as you build it. Choose how many to send, check out, and then tell us where each one goes. We print it and mail it for you.
What exactly do I get?
A real 4×6 photo postcard, printed in full color. Your photos cover the front edge to edge, and your message is printed on the back in the handwriting style you picked. We address it, add the postage and mail it straight to the person you're sending it to.
How long does it take to make one?
About a minute for one postcard. If you're making several different cards, give yourself a few minutes more.
Can I preview and approve it before it's printed?
Yes. The preview is drawn to the real print layout, so what you see is what gets printed. Nothing is printed until you've checked out. The space for the address and postage is kept clear for the post office, so nothing you add ever gets covered.
Do I need an account or app?
No. You make the whole card here in your browser, with no app to download and no sign-up to see the preview. The person you send it to doesn't need anything either. It just shows up in their mailbox.
How good is the print quality?
Your photos are printed in rich, full color on thick 4×6 card stock with a glossy finish. Everyday phone photos look great. Pick ones with good light and faces that are easy to see.
What does shipping cost?
Nothing. Every order ships free, even a single postcard. We add the stamp and mail it, so there's nothing to buy and nothing to take to the post office.
How long does delivery take?
Usually 5 to 10 business days from your order to their mailbox. We print within one to two business days, then it travels by USPS First-Class Mail. We can't guarantee a delivery date, and it can take a little longer when orders are high or during the holidays.
What if I'm not happy with it?
Tell us within 30 days of delivery and we'll reprint it or refund it, your choice. Nothing to send back. Email support@familyletter.io and tell us which card it was.
What if it gets lost or damaged?
We'll print it and mail it again for free. Email support@familyletter.io within 60 days and tell us which card it was.
Are my photos private?
Yes. Your photos and message are used only to make and mail your postcard. We never sell them, never use them in ads and never use them to train AI. They're kept in private storage and shared only with our printer, so it can print your card. You can email us any time to have them deleted.

Prices and the Postcard Club

How much does a postcard cost?
$9.99 for one postcard, and each extra card in the same order costs less: $8.00 for the second, $7.00 for the third, then $5.00 each, up to 10 cards. Printing, postage and shipping are included in every order. Postcard Club members pay $1.49 a card.
How does the Postcard Club work?
It's $10 a month, or $48 a year (60% off monthly), and it renews until you cancel. While you're a member every postcard is $1.49, with printing, postage and shipping included, no minimum, to any US address. Your addresses are saved, so sending again takes a few taps.
Can I cancel the Club?
Yes, anytime from your profile. Cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep member prices until the end of the month or year you paid for. The membership fee is non-refundable once a billing period starts.
Does FamilyLetter still sell the monthly gift subscription?
No. The monthly gift subscription and its 3, 6 and 12-month plans closed to new buyers in September 2026. To send postcards regularly, join the Postcard Club and send each card yourself for $1.49, whenever you like.

The person receiving it

Does the person I'm sending to need a smartphone, an app or an account?
No. They receive a printed postcard in their mailbox. There is nothing to install, nothing to log into and nothing to set up on their side.
Where can you mail postcards?
To any US address. You add the address after checkout and we check it before the card prints. The mailing area on the back is kept clear for the post office, so nothing you add is printed over it.
Can I send the same postcard to more than one person?
Yes. Choose how many to send, and after checkout give each card its own address. Every card in the order mails separately.
