Personalized Christmas postcards, one for each person

A boxed card says the same thing to everyone. A Christmas postcard can say something different to Grandma, your brother and your old roommate.

Each person can get their own photos and their own note. Every card is printed separately and mailed to its own address.

Match the photos to the person

You already know which photo each person will want. Put that one on their card.

Tap Create another postcard for each person who should get different photos. One order holds up to ten cards in total.

  • Grandma: the baby in the Santa hat, full size, nothing else competing
  • Your brother: his kids and yours lined up at the tree
  • Your aunt: four photos of the year, because she asks about everyone
  • Your college roommate: the dog in reindeer antlers

A different note on every card

When several people should get the same photos, keep one design, set how many cards, then tap Write one for each person.

Each copy gets a name and its own message, so Grandma's card thanks her for the sweater and your neighbor's doesn't.

Your note prints on the back in the font you pick, beside the address. Short reads well on a postcard: two or three lines.

Is a Christmas postcard a real Christmas card?

Yes. It's a Christmas card without the envelope, so your photo is the first thing anyone sees at the mailbox.

Ours is 4x6, full color, on thick glossy stock.

Custom Christmas postcards: backs and stickers

Start with the Holiday plaid or Snowflakes back. Then add stickers to the front, the back, or both.

The Santa beard on the baby is always a strong choice.

Pick photos where faces are large. At 4x6, a wide shot of eight cousins turns into confetti.

  • For heads: Santa hat, reindeer antlers, elf hat, Santa beard
  • Around the photos: tree, snowman, gingerbread, ornament, candy cane, holly, snowflake
  • Words: Merry Christmas!, Ho ho ho!, Let it snow

Christmas messages, person by person

One bit of news they'd care about, then a sign-off. Borrow one and change the names:

More lines for the older generation are in Christmas messages for grandparents.

  • For Grandma: Merry Christmas! He wore the hat for four whole seconds. Love you.
  • For your brother: The kids still talk about your snowman. Come back and fix it?
  • For a friend: Merry Christmas from the house with the crooked tree. Call me.
  • For a neighbor: Thanks for watching the dog in July. Merry Christmas from next door.

Christmas postcard questions

Are Christmas postcards a thing?

Yes. A Christmas postcard is a Christmas card without the envelope: photos on the front, your note and the address on the back. FamilyLetter prints them 4x6 and glossy, and mails each one for you.

Can each Christmas postcard have different photos and a different message?

Yes. Make a separate postcard for anyone who should get different photos. For a shared design, switch to one message per person and name each card.

When should I order Christmas postcards?

Allow up to 15 days, because USPS can run slow in December, so order by December 10. Most cards arrive in 5 to 10 business days, and we can't guarantee a delivery date.

How do I make photo Christmas postcards?

Add up to four photos, pick a Christmas back and stickers, and type your note. You see the exact front and back before you pay, then we print and mail it.

How much do Christmas postcards cost?

$9.99 for one card, $34.99 for five and $59.99 for ten. Printing and postage are included, with free shipping on every order.
