    Patrick E.

Missed Christmas? Send New Years postcards instead

December got away from you. It happens. A New Year card goes out after the rush, when the mailbox is quiet again.

A card that says Happy New Year still reads as on time in the first weeks of January.

Use the photos from the holidays. They are still on your phone, and nobody has seen them on paper yet.

A year-in-review card: twelve months, four photos

The front holds up to four photos. Four make a 2x2 grid, which is one photo for each season.

Pick the photos you would show someone at the kitchen table, not the ones with the nicest light.

On the back, give each photo one line. Who it is, how old, and what happened.

  • Winter: Sam taught Ellie to sled. Mostly downhill.
  • Spring: every puddle on the street, personally inspected.
  • Summer: dock jumps, all of August.
  • Fall: first grade, one front tooth down.

New Years photo postcards: backs and stickers

The card opens on the Stars back with a Happy New Year! banner and a firework. Change either one with a tap.

Stickers go on the front, the back, or both. A party hat on the toddler who fell asleep at nine is a strong choice.

  • New Year: firework, noisemaker, disco ball
  • Words: Happy New Year!, Cheers to you!
  • Other backs: Confetti, Snowflakes, or plain cream
  • For heads: party hat, crown, star sunglasses

How to send happy new year postcards

One order holds up to ten cards, and each one can go to a different US address.

Still before Christmas? Try Christmas postcards with a note each, or one card for the season with holiday postcards for every celebration.

  1. Add up to four photos from this year.
  2. Write one note for everyone, or a different note for each person.
  3. Check out, then add each address.
  4. We print, stamp and mail every card.

Short New Year messages for the back

One highlight from the year and one plan for the next is plenty. Borrow one:

  • Happy New Year! We made it to midnight. Barely.
  • Favorite part of this year: the summer at the lake with you. Same time next year?
  • New year, same us. Come visit in the spring?
  • Cheers to you, Grandpa. The sparklers were your idea, and they were a hit.

New Year postcard questions

When should I send New Year cards?

To be safe for January 1, order by December 17 and allow up to 15 days, because USPS can run slow in December. A Happy New Year card that lands in early January still reads as on time.

Is it too late to send a holiday card after Christmas?

No. Send a New Year card instead. It carries the same photos and news, and nobody expects it before the holidays are over.

Can I make a year-in-review postcard?

Yes. Add four photos, one for each season, and they print in a 2x2 grid on the front of a 4x6 glossy card. Use the back for a line about each one.

What do you write on a New Year card?

One highlight from the year, one plan or wish for the next, and the names of everyone in the photos. Two or three short lines are enough.

Do you mail the cards for me?

Yes. After you pay, add each address. We print each card and mail it by USPS First-Class Mail to any US address. Most arrive in 5 to 10 business days, and we can't guarantee a delivery date.

How much do New Years postcards cost?

$9.99 for one card, $34.99 for five and $59.99 for ten. Printing and postage are included, with free shipping on every order.
