    Steven G.
  • “This is such a good “thinking of you” gift, it feels way more intentional than sending a text”

    Patrick E.

What goes on a Halloween postcard

A FamilyLetter Halloween postcard is a 4x6 glossy photo postcard with up to four of your own photos, printed and mailed for you.

Start with the photos you already took this week. They print edge to edge.

Good picks: the costume on the front step, the pumpkins after carving, the candy haul on the kitchen floor, the dog in its hot-dog bun.

The sticker tray has a Halloween section: witch hat, vampire fangs, jack-o'-lantern, ghost, bat, black cat, spider, candy corn and a treat bucket.

There are word stickers too: Boo!, Happy Halloween and Trick or treat! Put fangs on the toddler. Nobody will mind.

Night photos can look darker on paper than on a phone screen. Pick the shot taken under the porch light, or one from before dark.

The back opens on a Halloween design, your message printed in the font you pick. Change the design or drop the stickers before you pay.

Not sure how many photos to use? See the custom photo postcard layouts for one to four.

Send this year's costumes after the 31st

The good Halloween photos don't exist until the night itself. That makes the first week of November a perfectly good time to send one.

A card a week after Halloween isn't late. It's the report: who went as what, how long the costume lasted, the candy count.

It's the card for the grandparent who missed it. She gets the costumes in her hand, not a photo she has to zoom into.

Sending before the 31st instead? Use the pumpkin patch photos or last year's costume, and read When to order below first.

Next on the calendar: Thanksgiving postcards from fall photos, then holiday postcards for your list, made the same way.

Make one in a minute

It takes about a minute, and nothing is printed until you check out.

  1. Add one to four photos from your phone or computer.
  2. Write a short message and pick a font.
  3. Keep the Halloween back and stickers, or swap them.
  4. Check the front and back. What you see is what prints.
  5. Pay, then tell us where each card goes. Up to 10 cards, each to a different US address.

What to write on a Halloween card

A Halloween card message works in one or two specific lines: who wore what, and one thing that happened. A few to borrow:

  • Maya was a bat. She refused to take the wings off for dinner.
  • Our first pumpkin carving with Leo. He handled the scooping and ate one seed.
  • Final count: 61 pieces of candy. Two are for you, Grandpa.
  • Sam wanted you to see the dinosaur costume before it went in the wash.

Halloween postcard questions

How do I make a custom Halloween postcard with my own photos?

Add up to four of your own photos to the front, write a message, add Halloween stickers if you like, and see the finished card before you pay. We print it on thick glossy 4x6 card stock and mail it.

What should I write on a Halloween postcard?

One or two specific lines beat a long note. Name the costume and one thing that happened on the walk. The photo on the front is doing most of the work already.

Do people still send Halloween cards?

Yes. A Halloween card is a lighter send than the December one. There's no list to work through, just the grandparent or aunt who missed the costumes.

Is it too late to send one after Halloween?

No. A card in early November with this year's costume photos reads as news, not as a late card. It's often the better card, because it shows the costumes that actually got worn.

Will it arrive before Halloween?

Most cards arrive in 5 to 10 business days: we print within one to two business days, then it goes USPS First-Class Mail. We can't guarantee a delivery date, so allow up to 15 days for a card meant to land by the 31st.

Do I need a stamp or to mail it myself?

No. Shipping is free on every order, even one card. We add the postage and mail it. After you pay, you enter the address for each card.

Can I send the same card to both sets of grandparents?

Yes. One order holds up to 10 cards, and each card can go to a different US address. Make one design and send it to everyone, or change the message for each person.

What happens to the photos of my kids?

They're used only to make and mail your card. They are never sold, never used in ads and never used to train AI, and we delete them on request.
